Beaver City, NE – Republican Wes Wilmot, a lifelong conservative fighter and community leader, has officially announced his candidacy for Legislative District 38. Wilmot is a 5th generation Nebraskan, husband, father, and farmer from rural Beaver City running to defend commonsense conservative values.
“In the Legislature, I’m focused on defending our rural conservative values. I’ll work to lower overwhelming property taxes, support our farmers and ranchers, honor our Constitution, fight for rural Nebraska, defend our right to bear arms, and protect the sanctity of life,” said Wilmot. “Rural Nebraskans deserve a conservative fighter who will stand up for them and ensure their voice is heard in Lincoln.
Wilmot’s fight to defend conservative values and serve his community is longstanding. Wes serves as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the Beaver City EMS, a livestock producer, a trustee of Beaver City Free Methodist Church, a co-commander with Wreaths Across America of Beaver City’s VFW, and the Vice Chairman of the Furnas County Republican Party.
Wilmot spent 35 years as a cellular engineer in the wireless communications field. He continues working as a cattle rancher and farm operator on the family farm. Wilmot previously served as an ESU 11 board member, Sunday school superintendent, AWANA commander, and 4-H Shooting Sports instructor. He is a lifetime member of the NRA and Nebraska Farm Bureau.
Wes and his wife, Kathy, have three adult children who have blessed them with 10 grandchildren.
